For more than 20 years, I have been helping people build stronger connections with their dogs through training and coaching.  Along the way, I've learned that understanding dog language, genetics, enrichment , and a healthy lifestyle are all key pieces that build  understanding and create a rewarding and lasting partnership with our canine companions. 
  

What Is Offered

Our group classes and workshops provide fun learning opportunities outside the traditional dog training class setting, while still building important foundation skills.  We welcome dogs and handlers of all ages, experience levels and abilities.    

About

Over the years, I have volunteered as a helper, coach and instructor with the Campbell River Dog Fanciers Society, Roadsters Agility Club, and the CRK9FX Flyball Club.  As president of the VIPEG Barn Hunt Group, I had the privilege of working alongside a wonderful group of dog enthusiasts from across the North Island.  Together, we hosted the first of many Barn Hunt trials and workshops on Vancouver Island. 

In 2013, a business partner and I introduced scent detection classes and trials to Vancouver Island, creating new opportunities for dog and handlers to enjoy this growing sport.  More recently, I had the pleasure of working with a dedicated group of terrier enthusiasts to establish Earthdog practice events and trials in Campbell River through the CRDFS. 

This year, I became a Canadian Association of Rally Obedience judge and Scent Walks Instructor and have continued to explore and introduce new activities for dogs and their people, including Hoopers, Urban Rat Hunting, and scent based games such as Lost Item Recovery and Shed Hunting and soon to introduce Scent Walks.  I have found these activities to be both enriching for our dogs and rewarding for their handlers. The games really are:

I share my home with a senior pug, Chu:  young adult lagotto romagnolo, Sprite: and a young border terrier, Milton. 

I truly love working, playing and spending time with my canine family members. Over the years, I have titled my dogs in many dog sports, hiked, biked, camped and even started truffle hunting with Sprite.  I can hardly wait to see what new adventures lay ahead!
